Introducing me:
Usually when people meet me, and they get passed the ‘my name is…’ and ‘this is what I’m doing in school’ and ‘how bout yourself?’ small talk questions they usually start wondering about about my ethnic background…
I’m a halfling. I am one mixed up kid. I almost ended up with red hair but nope by Scottish dad went and married a Chinese lady. I wish I could speak Mandarin or some other form of Asian language (How useful would that be?) oh wait actually I do: Japanese! And that’s only because I was basically a missionaries kid in Japan about 8 years ago for 4 years. Went to a public school there and all that Jazz…
Over the summer I spent a week in Scotland and found out that my last name (Matheson) means “son of the bear” or “son of heros.” Pretty trippy. If the idea didn’t freak me out so much and I got a tatoo, take a guess as to what it would be… a bear with my name in Japanese. And so unlike peeps who just put randomn Kanji on their backs because they think it means “Love” when in reality it means “terd” this would be lagitimate.
cheers. I pretty much envy your existence.
This’ll be like what the third time you’ve heard me rant about my tatoo idea?
I was Edinburgh, Inverness and Aberdeen.
I wish I’d stuck around for longer I was there for like a week and a half. Something like 3 days in each place…
I mostly got a taste for the city to small town life. I needed to go out of the cities more to get a taste the beauty of the place.
Ultimately though I can say that the Scots are friendly keen to meet you sorts and rolling green hills do exist.
